What Inspired Interrupted Journeys?
The "Interrupted Journeys" collection is born from a time of unexpected challenges, resilience, and the discovery that life’s detours often lead us to something far more meaningful than we originally imagined. This collection is inspired by my personal experiences over the past few years—navigating through difficult health diagnoses, loss, and uncertainty, to ultimately finding a love I never thought possible and being gifted the beauty of motherhood. These moments, while unexpected, have led me to a life more fulfilling than I could have ever dreamed, for which I am indescribably grateful.
This journey is reflected in the pieces, many of which explore the theme of duality. The frequent use of two-tone metals symbolizes the intersection of opposites—light and dark, past and future, struggle and triumph. Each piece represents the paths we take in life: some clear and intentional, others winding and unpredictable. Much like the lines of a palm, these paths branch out into a web of possibilities, where each decision leads us to the life we are meant for, even if it doesn’t align with our expectations.
Another form of duality exists within the design itself. The pieces blend organic, flowing pathways with regimented, mathematical structures—almost like an astronomical chart or compass. This interplay mirrors our human desire to impose order and structure on our lives, while time itself moves in natural, ungovernable rhythms. The collection speaks to that tension—the way we often plan and try to control, only to find that life has its own plans, ones that can lead to something far greater than we imagined.
Interrupted Journeys is a celebration of resilience, patience, and the beauty of unexpected turns. It’s a reminder that, while we may not always get what we want, life has a way of giving us exactly what we need, and often far more than we ever thought to ask for.
Enjoy!
